Q. Where did the name Telfair originate?
A. Telfair was inspired by the cities of Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina. Telfair is the name of the largest oak-lined square in Savannah. Telfair will have a tapestry of landscaped neighborhood squares, offering residents places to gather amid live oaks, magnolias and azaleas.

Q. What is the first phase of the community?
A. The first phase is from US Hwy. 59 to New Territory Ave and from University Blvd. to the border of the community of New Territory.

Q. When will the property south of Hwy. U.S. 59 be available?
A. Toward the end of the project.

Q. What size is the community of Telfair?
A. Approximately 2,018 acres.

Q. How many homes will be built in the community?
A. Approximately 3,000 single family homes.

Q. Will there be lakes?
A. There are approximately 70 acres of recreational lakes.

Q. Will there be home accessible to the water?
A. There will be lakeview lots available but no direct access to the lake from a homesite.

Q. What are the lot sizes in Phase I?
A. The lots are 60, 65, 70, 80 and in the future, 50, 55, 90 feet wide.

Q. What architectural styles are the homes?
A. Patio homes, traditional or conventional, period or architecturally enhanced.

Q. Will there be custom homes or a gated community?
A. There are no plans for custom homes or a gated community in Telfair, at this time.

Q. How much are the HOA dues and what do they cover?
A. The Telfair Homeowners Association dues are $650 per year. The Telfair HOA owns, operates and maintains common areas and community improvements.

Q. What school district serves Telfair and which schools will children attend?
A. Fort Bend Independent School District serves Telfair and the children will attend; Walker Station Elementary, a new elementary scheduled to open August 2007, First Colony Middle School, and Kempner High School..

Q. Are there future plans for a school in Telfair?
A. There are 94 acres currently reserved for three proposed school sites, including two elementary campuses, and one high school (as determined by FBISD). The first elementary school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2007.

Q. What will be included in the recreation center?
A. There will be a total of 3 recreation centers in Telfair. They will include, swimming pools, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, sports fields and playgrounds. The first recreation center is scheduled to open in 2007.

Q. What is the big red barn building in the middle of Telfair?
A. The Central State Farm Building was built in 1938 for the prisoners on the farm. It is being restored and will be used as a civic center. Plans are underway to restore it.

Q. Will there be retail in Telfair?
A. Telfair is a mixed use community. There are plans for a Village Center within the community as well as retail in the surrounding areas.
