The students turn a cast away piece of furniture into a treasure, with sanding and design complete. The students create whimsical toys, constructed from mostly recycled items, in addition to the reworking talents. In a world of throw away items, the focus is on the value of recycling. The students use problem solving skills to rework and reuse: a valuable resource for the students to learn, through these projects. The art show held annually at Sugar Land Town Center features student paintings, folk art furniture, whimsical toys, and face painting.Proceeds from this year event ($1,200.00) are to be donated to “Impact a Hero” charity.
