Sugar Land Area Job Growth Increasing

In a recent CNN Money.com ranking of the “Best Places to Live,” the very county Sugar Land, Tx is located in, Fort Bend County, moved up on the list of counties with the highest reported job growth. In 2009, ranked No. 6 in job growth on the list, Fort Bend County has increased to take the No. 5 spot on the top 25 counties with the most job growth since 2000.All across the U.S., the study surveyed at 255 counties to arrive at this year’s ranking.Job growth in Fort Bend County increased by 55.7 percent from 2000-2009, according to the study.Job growth in the county was attributed to the area’s fast population growth over the past decade and benefits of Houston’s engineering, oil and energy firms.Also, Fort Bend County is home to the widely known micro-electronics company, Texas Instruments, the study adds.The study categorizes healthcare as a growing sector for job growth in the county as well, with St. Luke’s Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital’s recent opening of new cancer treatment centers in Fort Bend County.St. Luke’s Hospital is located in Sugar Land by luxurious communities like Riverstone and Sugar Creek.Source: hcnonline.com
