Earth Day Celebration at Sugar Land Town Square
In the city’s upcoming Earth Day Celebration, Sugar Land, Tx residents are set to have a chance to bring certain household items to Sugar Land Town Square to be recycled.Hosted by the city of Sugar Land and Keep Sugar Land Beautiful, the”green” event is scheduled to take place at Sugar Land Town Square on Friday, April 23, from 5: 00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.Starting at 5:00 p.m. in the parking lot next to city hall, the one-day event is set to feature paper shredding, free household electronics recycling, collection of clothing and household goods for reuse.According to coordinators of the event, the city of Sugar Land and Kepp Sugar Land Beautiful have partnered with Sugar Land Town Square and Republic Services to host a performance by a Texas-based group that uses recycled materials to create an unforgettable entertainment experience, Vocal Trash.The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council is set to showcase a series of environmental-activity booths including arts and crafts, face painting, and a recycling game as well during the performance.Eagle Electronic Resources is scheduled to be present for the Earth Day celebration. They will be at the event to collect household electronics for recycling and reuse.Non-working and working electronic equipment will be accepted for free from Sugar Land residents.Every Sugar Land resident participating in the electronics-recycling event is set to beplaced into a drawing for a free 42-inch television.Also, Sugar Land residents will have the chance to bring their paper, DVDs, CDs and floppy discs for shredding by document destruction company, On-Site Shred.
